Christian School Athletic Lessons in Denver CO

Through athletics programs and intramural activities offered at Augustine Classical Academy we hope to support students as they pursue physical activities that are challenging, character building and promote lifetime fitness and health.  Providing students with a growing range of activities will help them find a fit that is built for their passions and strengths or give them an opportunity to challenge themselves with a pursuit worthy of their commitment and hard work.

A well rounded student at Augustine Classical Academy is interested in how their body works and can perform during different activities, knows the training and requirements for various sports and is excited to explore the many different ways that their body can adapt to the activity they commit to practicing.  We believe the benefits that come with participation in individual and team sport settings will help to reinforce sportsmanship and respect in our students, a commitment to their teammates and coaches, and an opportunity to set goals and practice the discipline that is required to achieve them.

P.E. (Physical Education)

P.E. is an important part of academic training. Not only is physical exercise enjoyable and valuable in its own right, but it also promotes rest, rejuvenation, and mental clarity. All K-8 students have P.E. weekly, and rhetoric students may elect to continue the class.

Knights Tennis (3rd-5th grade)

Coming this summer!

We are excited to offer a new program through USTA to introduce our grammar and logic school students to tennis, develop their skills and to get them on the court playing a game they can participate in for life!

Intermurals

Various after school activities are offered each year at Augustine Classical Academy.  Knights Cross Country, grammar school running clubs, mountain biking excursions, basketball skills clinics and speed stacking clubs have all been offered in recent years.

Annual Walk-A-Thon and Field Day

Our walk-a-thon fundraiser is paired with field day events and races each fall at Augustine Classical Academy.  This annual event is a great way to kick off the school year and provides an opportunity for families to join together as they encourage their children during the walk-a-thon and cheer for them as they compete in classic field day races.

Basic Archery Instruction

Students in 4th grade and up are trained in Basic Archery Instruction through the National Archery in the Schools program.  This program is taught by Heidi Kushniroff who is the P.E. teacher at ACA and a certified BAI instructor.  The program introduces students on the fundamentals of archery using compound bows on an active range.  Before handling any equipment students must complete a written test covering safety and steps to successful shots on target.
