Literature & Theology
Heidi Karwoski grew up in Savannah, a small town in northwest Missouri. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary English Education and a minor in coaching.
After college, Heidi worked in an employment agency and moved up to the position of a recruiter (hiring and firing for jobs) for a time. She then taught middle and high school English at a public school in Missouri before retiring to start a family, but God had other plans.
Before moving to Colorado in May of 2009, Heidi volunteered full time as a job search coordinator at Love INC (In the Name of Christ) where she was able to teach job skills and help the least of these. She was also very involved in the re-entry program (helping former criminals find work and transition back into society). Since then, she has been a stay-at-home mom, a creative crafter, and a substitute teacher along with many other roles.
Heidi and her husband, Chris Karwoski, have been married for 15 years. They have two children at ACA: Kaylin (4th grade) and Evan (2nd grade). The Karwoski family loves to bake, camp, travel, and read.
