Welcome to the ACA Board of Directors
Every private school has a slightly different leadership model, but most, like ACA, are run with a Board of Directors to which the head of school reports. The Board is responsible for making policy decisions that align with the mission of the school, setting an annual budget, helping drive marketing and development, and overseeing the head of school. Board members volunteer their time and talent and do not receive any compensation of any form.
The Board meets at 7:00 PM at the Lakewood campus on the first Tuesday of each month, except July, unless otherwise noted on the school calendar. The first part of every Board meeting is an open session to which any member of the public is invited, and every meeting has an open discussion portion during which members of the public can bring up questions or ideas. Every ACA parent is welcome!
If you want to contact a Board member, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org and expect to receive a response within 48 hours. If you have an urgent or emergent issue or question, please type "URGENT" in the subject line and include your phone number in the email, and a Board member will reach you promptly.
Board members strive to be visible and available at school. Feel free to chat with Board members in casual settings, but if you have a specific question about an issue or a policy, it's best to set a meeting time when you can have a Board member's undivided attention.
