nate ahern | k-12 Principal

First Year at ACA: 2014

Originally from Grand Junction, CO, Nate Ahern was educated classically at home before attending Vanderbilt University for a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English, and a minor in Violin Performance from the Blair School of Music. Post degree, he was a chartered retirement planning counselor and financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial before entering education in 2009. Before joining Augustine Classical Academy, he has taught earth and physical sciences, biology, chemistry, logic, Old and New Testament surveys, composition, and senior rhetoric, and has served as dean of students and school chaplain at Providence Classical School in Spring, TX.

Nate and his wife Charlotte have been married for 16 years and have four children—Clyde, Haley, Becket, and Evangeline.  The Ahern family typically keeps life simple: they love the outdoors in all its flavors (particularly running and hiking), and they devour books (of most flavors.  A few favorites are Chesterton, Yeats, Potok, and Eco.).  But above all, they want to tangibly affirm the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ as a family and pray that his gospel constantly comes out their fingertips.
