Susan Caldwell | Mathematics

First Year at ACA: 2026

Susan Caldwell graduated from The Master’s University (formerly, The Master’s College) with degrees in both Mathematics and Computer Science, along with a Secondary Teaching Credential in Mathematics, before pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science (Theory) at the University of California, Los Angeles. While a graduate student at UCLA, she taught part-time at her alma mater in the Computer Science and Business departments during which time she enjoyed cultivating a love for learning and practical application in a Christ-centered environment.

For the past 8 years, Susan has educated her children through a classical Christian homeschool program where she enjoyed seeing the curriculum match their natural tendencies from the Poll Parrot to Pert to Poetic stages of development. With her youngest now old enough for full-time school, Susan is excited to bring her love for mathematics and classical Christian education together at ACA where she looks forward to pointing students to the Truth, Goodness and Beauty they can glimpse through their study of Mathematics. To paraphrase Galileo, “Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe.”

Susan and her husband, John, have been married for over two decades and have four boys who will be attending ACA from grammar through rhetoric school. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys having fun with her family, staying healthy through CrossFit, and spending time in the mountains.
