Kristen Matthews | Kindergarten

First Year at ACA: 2022

Kristen is delighted to be in her second year as Kindergarten Lead after three years nurturing preschoolers at ACP. Since joining ACA five years ago, Kristen has seen the fruit of a classical Christian education in her own children and feels privileged to lead young learners to seek what is good, true, and beautiful with great wonder (and plenty of songs!).

Kristen received vocal performance degrees from Rice University and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She performed in operas, musical theater and as a soloist in churches and recital halls in California, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania before meeting her husband Tommy at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City where she was on staff in music ministry.

After welcoming their first child, Kristen and Tommy left NYC to plant roots in Denver where Tommy was born and raised. Kristen now enjoys reading aloud to her three children (Amelia, Thomas, and Virginia), taking walks in her Park Hill neighborhood with her dog, baking, gardening, co-directing ACA’s Theater Club, and singing, of course!
