Shelby McCabe | 2nd-4th Homeschool Collaborative

First Year at ACA: 2025

Shelby McCabe is currently the 2nd-4th grade homeschool collaborative teacher at Augustine Classical Academy. Her teaching journey began in a traditional classroom, where she taught fourth grade at Dennison Elementary School. But it wasn’t until she became a mother that she discovered the richness of classical education. Shelby homeschooled her three children using the classical model—two from kindergarten through high school graduation, and her youngest through his freshman year of high school. She has taught across grade levels and subjects, including Latin, Logic, and Chemistry, and firmly believes classical education shapes both the heart and the mind.

Originally from Southern California, Shelby attended Colorado Christian University on a volleyball scholarship and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. In addition to teaching, she shares her love of learning through coaching and currently serves as the JV volleyball coach at Denver Christian High School.

Shelby and her husband, Drew, have been married for 25 years and have three wonderful children. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys most anything outdoors, reading, and spending time with her family.
