Jared Melton | Mathematics

First Year at ACA: 2024

Students in Jared Melton's classroom can expect thoughtful discussion, genuine curiosity, and a deep pursuit of understanding. Rather than simply memorizing formulas or procedures, students are challenged to ask why mathematics works, developing habits of reasoning that extend far beyond the classroom. His goal is to cultivate students who think carefully, communicate clearly, and delight in discovering order within God's creation.

Jared's studies have centered on mathematics, education, biblical studies, and language, allowing him to connect mathematics with history, theology, literature, science, and everyday life. He believes mathematics is not an isolated discipline but one of the many ways we learn to recognize truth, beauty, and order in the cosmos.

Originally from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Jared enjoys spending time outdoors, especially through biking and rock climbing. He also enjoys reading and the performing arts, both of which continually remind him of the richness of the human experience. Above all, he desires that his teaching would glorify the Creator.

“A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral.” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
