Christina Peter | Pre-Kindergarten Assistant and Kindergarten-2nd Music
Christina Peter is the Pre-Kindergarten Assistant and Kindergarten-2nd music teacher. Embracing the Classical Christian model of education, Christina is inspired by great thinkers such as St. Benedict, St. Augustine, Brother Lawrence, J.S. Bach, C.S. Lewis and G.K. Chesterton, to name a few. She believes these thinkers point to Biblical and beautiful thought, ordered and purposeful living, and inspire imagination and rigorous creativity.
A graduate of the University of Kansas, Christina was inspired to pursue a career in teaching music to disadvantaged elementary children, for whom music could provide a vehicle to finding their own voice. Along the way, Christina stumbled into a treasure-trove of opportunities to learn and work within the early childhood realm. This continues to be a delight and inspiration to her to this day.
Prior to working at Augustine Classical Academy, Christina worked at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Preschool and St. John’s Early Learning Center in Denver. During her time at St. John’s Christina helped launch the Safety Team.
Christina is inspired by the beauty, design, and restorative qualities of nature, which points directly to the Creator. In the classroom, Christina sees truth, beauty, and excellence as the foundation for pedagogical practice, as well as human relationships.
