Charissa Rawlins | First Grade

First Year at ACA: 2026

Charissa was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, but moved to Colorado when she was eight. She studied Elementary Education at Colorado Christian University and grew to love teaching, developing a particular passion for classical Christian education. Charissa loves the emphasis on literature and objective truth found within classical education and believes education should be a partnership between the teachers and the parents. She has worked as a substitute teacher and special education paraeducator, but is excited to begin teaching full time this year. She completed her student teaching at Augustine Classical Academy last year and fell in love with the school on her first day.

Charissa loves to add a creative flair to anything she does. When she is not adding these touches to her classroom and her teaching, you can find her in the kitchen, outside, or in a cozy nook somewhere. She loves to bake and is always trying new recipes or writing her own. She also enjoys crocheting, singing, and discussing theology, whether at church, over coffee, or around a table. More than anything, she is always looking for new ways to bring glory to God.
