Umba Bijoux | PreK Assistant Teacher

First Year at ACA: 2023

Umba (Bijoux) was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo and also lived in Zambia for a few years, where she taught first grade. After moving to Denver, Umba earned her bachelor’s degree in Modern Language (French) at Metropolitan State University at Denver. Her three main passions include: 1) a love for Christ, 2) the joys of family, and 3) the ideas shared in quality education. As a mother of three children, two of whom attend ACA, Umba believes that her family has been positively transformed by ACA through a faith-focused and quality academic program. Umba desires to share the same love and care to the wonderful preschool community that ACA has provided for her children. Prior to ACA, Umba worked in childhood education at Auraria Learning Center. Umba has been married to her husband, Bwabwa, for 19 years. During her free time, Umba loves to travel, spend time with her children, and read books.
